Chairman’s Club Grant Guidelines

  • The Chairman’s Club funding is provided only to nonprofits organizations with 501(c)(3) exempt status that support the youth in East Tennessee. The Chairman’s Club provides grants to youth organizations to alleviate the suffering and provide for the well being of children in East Tennessee, including sports organizations, youth arts and culture clubs, youth education groups and youth health care associations. Our overarching goal continues to be to support activities that empower one of East Tennessee’s greatest resources: our young people.

    We do not fund:

    • Grants or scholarships to individuals

    • Golf Tournaments

    • Advocacy, political causes or events

    • Event Sponsorship

    • Multiple-year pledge campaigns

  • All grant requests must have a letter of recommendation from an active Chairman’s Club Member no later than August 1st. All grant proposals to the Chairman’s Club must include the following elements:

    • Proposal Cover Sheet

    • Proposal (not to exceed 3 pages)

    • Budget

    • Once an application is received, it is reviewed by the Chairman’s Club Committee to ensure it meets filing requirements.

    • All grants approved by the committee will be emailed to the full membership by October 1st.

    • Members will have 14 days for open discussion regarding grants submitted, and to offer feedback to the committee.

    • There will be a meeting of the full membership on the 3rd Thursday in October to discuss the committee’s recommendation for approved grants.

    • All grants will be approved no later than October 31st.

    • Chairman’s Club Membership will be made aware of all grants submitted and approved grants by November 30th of each year.

    • Applicants will be notified of the status of their application via e-mail or postal mail once funding decisions are made final.
